Are you ready for job? This is an intriguing question, actually you should ask yourself. Some individuals don’t know much about it, like which industry or firm, which company, the procedures. It’s not clear in an individual’s mind that in which company they want to do the job as there are many companies around. Some people believe that finding a job and eventually getting it can be hard enough. Finding a job can be tough. Motivation plays a very important role in every walk of life. As the definition of motivation in says that it is the process that accounts for an individual’s intensity, direction, and persistence of effort towards attaining a goal.
Here the goal is to be job-ready, there are hundreds of solutions available to any problem, but the key is to execute the solution plan where intensity and direction are vital and stick to it where persistence plays a huge role. This is goal setting, goals tell an individual what needs to be done and how much effort and time is needed. Specific goals increase performance. In my knowledge, setting goals will help evaluate the opportunities and guide me to the best experience. Self-belief is very important to have, and that’s where self-efficacy theory comes in, it is an individual’s believes that he or she is capable of performing a task.
Step 1: Self Evaluation
Firstly, an individual has to assess his or his values, temperament, personality, and interests. There are various tools available for this critical process on the internet. In this step, you will better understand the career path you want and in this step you can better understand the company cultures and environments that will suit you in future. By this, You can know your career interests. In this procedure, you will find an answer to the question of what industry or company would be the best fit for your skills and interests.
Step 2: Selected Interested/ Target companies
In this step, You need to start looking at industries that you are interested in and get a feel for what these companies you are looking for. This step will give an answer to the question that “what do you want to do” and “where you want to work”. You should make your list of top 10 favorite companies you are interested in.
Step 3: Developing a Resume
Developing a resume, this step is an important. A Resume is one key element for securing any job. For creating a great resume an individual has to take a look at an online resume guide or Pinterest or a relevant website to grab some solid and creative ideas to give his or her resume a perfect look.
A resume is a summary of your background, skills, and qualifications. Your resume needs to be up to date. It is mentioned on some job postings that send your updated resumes. It reflects on your education, experience, and skills. Things to mention on the resume are personal details, work experience, Opening Statement, Education Background, Achievements, and awards.
Your resume should not have any spelling and grammatical mistakes. Your resume should not be too bulky, you should avoid giving too much information. You should avoid providing unnecessary personal information.
Step 4: Online/social media Research
Prepare for the search, Once an individual has a list of places to go and companies/firms to work for it’s the ideal time for research. At this stage, you should carry out serious research on each company that you are going to apply to. The best place to pinpoint your targets is an online search. The apps like LinkedIn can provide great results regarding jobs.
Step 5: Visit Career Centers and Libraries
Visit career centers and libraries, Visiting career centers can be very vital as they can provide me with necessary information regarding jobs also they can help an individual on designing resume and cover letters. Libraries and book stores have many publications on jobs and they have many guidebooks available which can add great value to the cause.
Step 6: Go to Job Fairs
Go to job fairs, job fairs often held in cities. At this stage, You have to look for job fairs in your area and be ready to attend. At these job fairs, companies looking to hire interns will have booths where individuals can apply on the spot or later and can get more information.
Step 7: Networking
Some people consider networking the best way to find jobs so, It can be one of the best sources.
People to talk to include:
a) Family, friends, and friends of friends.
b) Third-year(junior) and Fourth-year(senior) students.
c) Class-fellows
d) University professors
e) Student affairs/office staff
Step 8: Apply for the Job
Now that you have successfully found a job, it’s time to apply for the job. Send the updated resume, and follow the hiring procedure by particular company. an individual would have found out the job for him or her. It’s time to applying to it, some jobs require individuals to apply online and some manually.
Step 9: Prepare for the interview
If managed to land an interview, means halfway there. The purpose is to prepare for how to impress the interviewer. For this, an individual has to set up practice interviews with mentors, friends, career centers, or someone who can provide me with beneficial feedback. Proper dressing is also essential. Reviewing methodology on professional conduct will be helpful.
